Ghanaian EV Company; Wahu Mobility, Launches “Hero” App, Ushering in a New Era for E-Mobility in Africa
Accra, Ghana – June 26, 2025 — Ghanaian electric vehicle innovator Wahu Mobility officially launched its flagship digital platform, the Wahu Hero app, today at a high-profile event hosted at the British High Commission’s residence in Accra. The launch marks a significant milestone in Wahu’s mission to build a vertically integrated e-mobility ecosystem tailored to the realities of African cities.
The event brought together a distinguished audience of government officials, tech entrepreneurs, development partners, and media representatives and ecosystem players. The choice of venue underscored the UK’s ongoing support for climate-smart innovation and sustainable entrepreneurship in Ghana.
A Digital Backbone for Africa’s E-Mobility Future



The Wahu Hero app is designed to be the central hub of Wahu’s growing ecosystem. It empowers riders to manage their electric bikes with ease, offering features such as real-time tracking, flexible payment options, maintenance scheduling, spare-part purchasing and a rewards program that incentivizes safe and consistent riding. The app also supports Wahu’s signature Ride-to-Own model, which allows delivery riders and entrepreneurs to gradually pay off their e-bikes while earning income.
Beyond individual users, the app is also built to serve fleet operators and logistics partners, offering data insights and operational tools that streamline last-mile delivery and reduce carbon footprints. With this launch, Wahu is not just offering a product, it’s building a digital infrastructure for Africa’s clean mobility revolution.
A Launch Rooted in Local Leadership

Representing the Government of Ghana, Director of Digital Technology at the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Dr. Samuel Antwi-Gyekyi. delivered remarks highlighting the alignment between Wahu’s mission and Ghana’s national development goals.

Wahu CEO Valerie Labi emphasized that Hero is more than an app, it’s a platform for empowerment.
Looking Ahead
With operations in Ghana and Togo with expansion plans into Nigeria, Togo, and Zambia, Wahu plans to scale the Hero app across the continent. An open API is in development, allowing third-party EV players to plug into the platform and contribute to a unified digital mobility network.
As the event concluded in the lush gardens of the British High Commission’s residence, the message was clear: the future of transport in Africa is electric, inclusive, and data-driven and Wahu’s Hero app is leading the charge.
